10 energizers for your meeting or training

Meetings and trainings can be fun – in fact, we think they should always be! Whether you have a brainstorming session, a team training or a planning meeting: a bit of energy and fun always brings more focus, creativity and engagement. Because let's be honest, who wants to stare at a PowerPoint endlessly? The result: people yawning, sinking a little in their chair, or secretly scrolling through their emails. Time to change that! How? With energizers; small, playful activities that not only boost energy, but also strengthen mutual connection. This is how you turn every meeting into more than a meeting. Here are 10 energizers guaranteed to bring energy to the room.

1. Two truths, one lie

Start the session with a creative introduction. Everyone shares three statements about themselves: two true and one made up. The rest of the group has to guess which one is the lie. Not only does it immediately break the ice, it often results in hilarious revelations.

airplanes

2. The paper airplane contest

Have everyone take a piece of paper, fold it into an airplane, and write their name on it. Then throw the airplanes around the room. Everyone has to pick one up and try to find the person whose airplane it is as quickly as possible.

3. The counting game

This one works well to get people focused. Choose a number, for example 5. Have the group stand in a circle and start adding. Everyone says one number in turn. However: if your number contains a 5 (like 15) or is divisible by 5 (like 10), then you have to say something else, like “alarm!”. Anyone who makes a mistake is out. Guaranteed lots of laughter and focus.

musical chairs

4. The musical chairs 2.0

A modern twist on the classic musical chairs! Place chairs in a circle, one less than the number of participants. Play music, and when it stops, everyone must find a chair. But here’s the twist: the person without a chair must share something, like a funny anecdote or a fun fact about themselves, before the game continues. The perfect mix of movement and connection!

5. Build the highest bridge

A fun challenge to encourage creative thinking and teamwork. Give teams random materials like paper, straws, and tape, and have them build a bridge that can hold a cup of water in 10 minutes. Which bridge is the strongest? Not only is this hilarious to watch, but it also brings out the competitive energy!

6. The Emoji Game

Let everyone express the essence of their mood, idea or answer in an emoji (for example in the chat or on a whiteboard). You will be surprised how a simple face can start a whole discussion.

7. Choose your favorite

Get to know each other better by asking some general questions. Then have them pick a side. For example: “Stand by the wall if you like coffee, and go to the window if you prefer tea.” It breaks up the static atmosphere and brings some lightness.

8. Compliment round

Everyone writes their name on a piece of paper. The paper goes around and everyone writes down a compliment for that person. At the end, everyone has a sheet full of positive vibes – instant feel-good energy.

balloons

9. The balloon challenge

Everyone gets a balloon, blows it up, and tries to keep it in the air. But: you also have to keep each other's balloons in the air! Add a challenge, like no one can touch their own balloon. Guaranteed chaos, laughter, and teamwork.

10. Never have I ever

Perfect for a personal touch. Have everyone stand up. Then call out statements, such as “I’ve never climbed a tree.” People who have climbed a tree have to sit down. Guaranteed lots of laughs and you get to know everyone better.
