At Space to Create, sustainability is an important theme, and that resulted in a creative brainstorm between colleagues Noortje (Marketing Manager) and Tessa (Hospitality & Reservations) last year. What started as an informal conversation grew into a concrete plan. The first big step was a collaboration with WoodYouCare, an organization that plants trees.

“We were full of great ideas,” says Noortje. “A green roof, less waste, planting trees – it was an inspiring brainstorm in which we gave our thoughts free rein.” One of those ideas was the collaboration with WoodYouCare, an organization that plants trees and restores ecosystems. “The great thing about WoodYouCare is that they really make an impact,” Tessa explains, “they look beyond just CO2 compensation. It’s also about biodiversity and supporting local communities.”
Planting trees from 2025
From January 2025, the partnership will be official. This means that we will plant a tree for every booking where customers choose to add booklets and pens. For this option, we charge a symbolic amount of 5 euros, regardless of how many sets you need – exactly the cost of one tree. In addition, you can also plant an extra tree yourself with your booking. “And if you do, we will plant an extra one,” Tessa says enthusiastically, “So one tree immediately becomes two!”
“We want to make it as easy as possible for you to choose sustainable,” says Noortje. “And doing something tangible together, like planting trees, appeals to people.”
This is the first step
The collaboration with WoodYouCare is just the beginning. The first 20 trees have already been planted, and Noortje and Tessa are full of new plans. “We really see this as a starting point,” says Noortje. “There is so much more possible, and that is what makes it so much fun.”
“We know that this won’t change the world right away,” Tessa adds. “But every step, no matter how small, contributes. It’s about making conscious choices together and continuing to look for ways to do better.”
