What is it?
An environment to distribute assignments, it ensures optimal cooperation and communication between students themselves and trainers with students.
Trainers can create classes, submit assignments, provide feedback, and conveniently view everything in one place. Classroom also integrates with Google Docs.
Why?
It promotes the quality and effectiveness of training and meetings. But why actually? You learn more from working on assignments yourself and it 'sticks' better. A big advantage is that you also need fewer external parties for projects. The speed of the process increases and participants are more challenged to deliver quality to the cases that are shared and assessed with each other.
The benefits of Google Classroom:
- Saves time and paper. Easy sharing of documents and it provides an overview.
- Better communication and feedback.
- Trainers can start discussions.
- Participants can share resources and communicate with each other.
- Trainers can see who has already submitted their work and provide feedback and grades.
- If you already work with Google products, you have integration with Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail, Drive and Forms.
- Classroom is free for schools, nonprofits, and individual users.
The cons:
- You need a Google account.
- For the novice user, it can seem confusing.
- Video sharing is not working properly yet. There are problems with formats.
- Keeping track of numbers is not yet optimal. And you cannot set out individual learning paths.
- And not unimportantly, Google Classroom is not a full-fledged learning management system (LMS).
